Santa hat brownie (in 5 mins)
Brownies come in a variety of forms. They are either fudgy or cakey, depending on their density. This one really is more for those of you who prefer “fudgy” brownies to “cakey” ones.
Ingredients /for 1 mug/
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder /original, no sugar/
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 tablespoons spring water
- pinch of salt
Mascarpone Buttercream /for 1 brownie/
- 1/4 tablespoons unsalted butter /room temperature/
- 1/2 tablespoons mascarpone cheese /room temperature/
- 3-4 tablespoons powdered sugar
- pinch of vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
And a big strawberry
- Dry ingredients: Add the sugar, flour, cocoa, and salt to the mug and mix.
- Wet ingredients: Then add the oil and water and mix the dry and wet ingredients together. Be sure to be thorough, there’s a tendency for clumps of the dry ingredients to form.
- Microwave on high for roughly a minute (800W = 1:50). You may have to microwave it longer or shorter, depending on your microwave, but the brownie should still be wet in the center when done.
- To assemble, pipe a ring of vanilla buttercream on top of your brownie. Cut off the base of a strawberry so it is flat and place it upside down on each brownie, pushing slightly to secure in place. Top the tip of the strawberry with a dot of buttercream to finish the santa hat.
